GAIL India and Shell Energy India Sign MoU to Explore Energy Opportunities

GAIL India, one of the largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution companies in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shell Energy India, the Indian subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell. The MoU aims to explore opportunities in the areas of natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain in India.

The partnership will focus on areas such as joint exploration and evaluation of gas opportunities, including the possibility of setting up an LNG import terminal in India. The collaboration will also explore possibilities for cooperation in renewable energy, hydrogen, and other emerging energy solutions.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from both companies, who expressed their commitment to working together towards a sustainable energy future. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL India stated, “We are excited to partner with Shell Energy India to explore new opportunities in the energy sector. This partnership will help us leverage our strengths and work towards achieving our common goals of meeting India’s energy needs while reducing the carbon footprint.”

The Managing Director of Shell Energy India, meanwhile, commented, “Shell is committed to working towards a low-carbon energy future, and we believe that this partnership with GAIL India will help us achieve that goal.
